Known for its iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and the Champs-Élysées, Paris continues to captivate travelers with its blend of historic charm and modern vibrancy. In 2024, the city welcomed over 17 million visitors, maintaining its status as a global hub for art, culture, and commerce. Paris also leads in sustainability efforts and innovations to combat overtourism while enhancing visitor experiences.
Other cities in the top rankings include Madrid, Tokyo, Rome, and Milan, highlighting Europe’s dominance in global tourism, although Asian cities like Bangkok are also rising rapidly. Global tourism saw a strong rebound in 2024, with an overall 19% increase in international arrivals and a record $1.9 trillion in spending.
