A six-day-old newborn was stolen from RIMS, Jharkhand, on Wednesday by a young woman in a dramatic manner. The incident occurred in the ward, and the thief’s image was captured on CCTV, showing her fleeing the scene. The police are using the footage to search for both the infant and the woman.
The baby’s father, Ramesh Bediya from Ramgarh, reported the incident at the Bariyatu police station. He explained that he brought his son to RIMS while seeking treatment for his wife. While he was in line for registration, a young woman approached his wife, offering to help. She followed them to breakfast and later returned to the ward.
The woman took advantage of a moment when Ramesh’s wife went to get an injection. When they returned, the young woman had vanished with the baby. After searching the hospital, they informed a guard, who reported seeing a woman with a newborn hurriedly leaving the building.
