A youth from Doranda locality in Ranchi has been arrested on charges of being an agent of Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI. According to reports, the Special Cell of Delhi Police has apprehended two individuals linked to ISI’s sleeper network.
One of the accused, Ansarul Miyan Ansari, is a resident of Nepal, while the second, Akhlaq Azam, hails from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. Akhlaq was reportedly working as a travel agent and lived in Rahmat Colony, Doranda.
Both suspects have been taken into custody and sent to Tihar Jail. After conducting a detailed investigation, the police have filed a chargesheet against them in court.
The arrests have raised concerns over the presence of sleeper cells, and security agencies are continuing with a deeper probe into the network.
