A bizarre and shocking incident took place in Handi Pada, located in the Amlabad OP area of Bokaro. A handpump installed in an open field started spewing flames instead of water, creating panic among the local residents. People were seen rushing out of their homes and running in fear.
Upon receiving the alert, a firefighting team from ONGC (Parbatpur unit) reached the spot and managed to bring the fire under control. Only then did the locals breathe a sigh of relief.
What caused it?
Preliminary suspicion points to a possible gas leak underground, which might have caught fire when the handpump was used. Experts are currently investigating the cause.
