A five-day Advanced Entrepreneurship Development Program (ESDP) on Rooftop Solar Installation was inaugurated at NIT Jamshedpur with support from the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME). The program aims to empower participants to become entrepreneurs in the solar energy sector, catering to rising energy demands in both urban and rural areas.
The event was inaugurated by Professor Bhim Singh, a recipient of the Vigyan Shri Award and a distinguished professor at IIT Delhi, who emphasized the transformative role of rooftop solar systems in meeting India’s energy needs in a decentralized and cost-effective manner.
Professor M. Chandrasekhar, Director of IIM Visakhapatnam, highlighted the growing entrepreneurial opportunities in the clean energy sector, encouraging participants to innovate and contribute to India’s green energy future.
The program features 24 participants and offers a combination of expert talks, hands-on sessions, and site visits. It is designed to provide comprehensive training on the technical, business, and financial aspects of solar panel installation. Industry professionals and experts from IITs and NITs are leading the sessions, equipping participants with practical skills and insights.
NIT Jamshedpur Director Professor Gautam Sutaradhar lauded the initiative, stating that such programs are vital for promoting clean energy solutions. He also commended MSME’s efforts in fostering entrepreneurship across the country.
The program will conclude on December 7, 2024, aiming to create a skilled workforce capable of advancing rooftop solar energy adoption, contributing to India’s sustainable energy goals.
