AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi recently mentioned that his party had shown interest in collaborating with the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. Despite efforts, there was no concrete response from the coalition. AIMIM’s Maharashtra leader, Imtiaz Jaleel, had reached out to Congress and NCP, proposing that a united front could effectively challenge BJP’s influence in the state.
The MVA, which includes Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress, and NCP, has expressed reluctance to include AIMIM, with Shiv Sena (UBT) reportedly opposing the idea. Owaisi reaffirmed AIMIM’s aim of challenging BJP’s governance and suggested that the party might independently contest the elections if an alliance is not formed.
