In Jharkhand, ambulance services are set to improve significantly following directions from Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The state’s health minister has instructed officials to establish call centers in four zones to enhance emergency medical assistance and ensure quicker response times. The initiative aims to streamline the operations of the *108 Emergency Ambulance Service* by creating a centralized system for dispatching ambulances efficiently.

Currently, Jharkhand operates 337 ambulances, including 287 with basic life support and 50 with advanced life support. These services, run by Ziqitza Healthcare Limited in partnership with the National Health Mission, handle a variety of emergencies, including pregnancy, accidents, and critical illnesses. Plans are also underway to set up trauma centers along major highways to provide immediate care for accident victims.
