An attempted theft was caught red-handed at Hari Mandir, located on Road No. 7, Ramnagar, under the Kadma police station area in Jamshedpur. Local residents noticed suspicious activity inside the temple late at night and managed to catch a young man in the act.
The accused has been identified as Vivek Birua, a resident of the same area — Ramnagar Road No. 7, Kadma. Before alerting the police, the locals reportedly beat him up for the attempted theft.
Police confirmed that Vivek is the son of Subhash Birua. Preliminary investigation has revealed that Vivek is suspected of involvement in thefts at two different temples. Authorities are now probing whether he was operating alone or part of a group.
