The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has released its list of drugs that failed quality tests in September. CDSCO regularly updates its website with lists of medications that do not meet quality standards, specifying the manufacturers. This month, the list includes 49 medications, including calcium supplements and antacids.
Among the failed drugs are Metronidazole from Hindustan Antibiotics Limited in Pimpri, Pune, as well as Domperidone, Oxytocin injections, Nimesulide and Paracetamol tablets, calcium and vitamin D3 supplements, Loperamide Hydrochloride tablets, Glimepiride tablets, and Paracetamol pediatric oral suspension.
Other drugs on the CDSCO’s list include Piperacillin and Tazobactam injections, Methylcobalamin injection (Neurophens 2500), Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide, Chlorpheniramine Maleate, and Phenylephrine Hydrochloride syrup. Cetirizine Dihydrochloride syrup (Citriz-P) is also listed as failing quality standards.
Last month, CDSCO’s August list featured 52 drugs, including fever medications like Paracetamol, calcium and vitamin D supplements, and anti-diabetic medications.
