In an impactful event led by the Election Commission of India and Chief Electoral Officer of Jharkhand, The Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELCs) organized an extensive campaign targeting future voters and first-time voters across schools, colleges, and skill centers throughout the state. Approximately 5,000 to 6,000 young participants actively engaged in the initiative.

A key feature of the campaign was the “Shapath Patra” activity, where these young citizens wrote personal pledges to the District Election Officer (DEO), promising their commitment to vote in future elections. By signing this pledge, they affirmed their intention to participate responsibly and diligently in the democratic process.

The event aimed to foster a culture of informed voting and civic responsibility among the youth, with activities that encouraged the importance of voting and its role in a functioning democracy. The initiative reflects the Election Commission’s continued efforts to increase electoral participation, instill democratic values, and promote awareness about the significance of each vote.

The Chief Electoral Officer, Jharkhand, emphasized that this initiative is essential for building a responsible voter base, as these young participants will soon play a crucial role in shaping the future of the country. Through these activities, the Election Commission of India aims to inspire a generation that understands the power of their vote and is committed to upholding the principles of democracy.
