Union Minister of Food Processing Industries, Chirag Paswan, participated in a panel discussion titled “Value Enhancement and Sustainable Development in Food Processing” at the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2025 in Davos. The session also featured industry leaders Nadir Godrej and Navneet Ravikar. During the discussion, Paswan highlighted India’s initiatives in innovation and global participation within the food processing sector. He emphasized the significant potential for Indian processed foods in international markets, citing the growing global demand and increased exports.

Paswan expressed optimism about fostering global collaborations and attracting new investments in India’s food processing industry. He noted that international investors are increasingly viewing India not just as a market but as a hub for building comprehensive ecosystems. This perspective aligns with the Indian government’s vision of establishing the country as a global food basket.

The Indian delegation at WEF 2025, led by Minister of Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, also included ministers CR Patil, K. Rammohan Naidu, and Jayant Chaudhary. The delegation aimed to showcase India’s advancements in artificial intelligence, sustainability, and global partnerships, resonating with WEF 2025’s theme: “Collaboration for the Intelligent Age.”
