Ranchi: On the occasion of World Sickle Cell Awareness Day, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren participated in a program organized by UNICEF India, where he interacted with youth affected by sickle cell disease.

During the event, the Chief Minister emphasized the state government’s ongoing efforts to tackle the issue. He stated that a comprehensive campaign is being carried out across Jharkhand for the screening and treatment of sickle cell disease and other health conditions.

He added that the Health Department has been directed to run sustained campaigns focusing on screening, monitoring, awareness, and counseling for sickle cell disease.

CM Soren also assured that the state government will soon take all necessary steps to support the education and healthcare needs of individuals affected by this condition.
