According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Cyclone Fengal is expected to move northwestwards over the next 12 hours and gradually weaken. However, the cyclone has already caused significant damage, particularly in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, over the past two days.
Heavy rainfall continues to lash several areas, leading to severe waterlogging and disruptions. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has been deployed to carry out rescue and relief operations in the affected regions.
The IMD has issued alerts for December 2 and 3, cautioning against heavy rainfall and strong winds in coastal areas. Residents are advised to stay indoors and follow safety guidelines issued by local authorities.
Efforts are ongoing to restore normalcy and provide relief to those impacted by the cyclone.
