August 5, 2025 — Former U.S. President Donald Trump has sharply criticized India for allegedly purchasing large quantities of crude oil from Russia and then selling a significant portion of it on the international market at higher prices, thereby earning substantial profits.

Trump further accused India of being indifferent to the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Ukraine, stating that the country does not seem to care about how many people are being killed by the Russian war machine.

“India is buying massive amounts of oil from Russia and then selling it on the global market at a profit. They’re making a lot of money out of this war,” Trump said in a recent statement.

They don’t care how many Ukrainians are dying. They are indifferent to the destruction,” he added, expressing frustration over what he described as a lack of moral responsibility.

Trump’s remarks come amid ongoing tensions between Western countries and Russia over the prolonged war in Ukraine, and amid debates about how neutral countries like India are balancing strategic interests with global expectations.

The Indian government has not yet responded officially to Trump’s statements.
