Jamshedpur: Dr. Amresh Mahto was honored by the Deen Bandhu Trust with a certificate of appreciation and a memento for his pioneering work in modern agricultural techniques. Dr. Mahto’s innovative approach is encapsulated in his slogan: “Ek Maati Dooti Chaas, Ebar Korbo Baro Maash”, which means, “Grow two crops simultaneously on the same land and cultivate year-round on any soil.” 

During the ceremony, Trust President Uttam Chakraborty highlighted Dr. Mahto’s contributions as the CMD of Aati Pual Mushroom (OPC) Pvt. Ltd., a startup under the “Start-up India” initiative. Dr. Mahto has been recognized nationally and internationally by various governmental and non-governmental organizations for his advanced research on Aati Pual Mushrooms. 

The honor was jointly presented to Dr. Mahto by Uttam Chakraborty and Trust General Secretary Nagendra Kumar. Special guests, including Dipanshu Tembre and Shambhu Nath Bisoi from IIT Kharagpur’s ABIF, were also present. 

Nagendra Kumar announced that Dr. Mahto has been appointed as a patron of the Deen Bandhu Trust, recognizing his visionary mission to revolutionize agriculture. He stated that under Dr. Mahto’s guidance, the Trust would help disseminate his techniques to farmers, empowering marginalized communities, especially Dalits, women, and tribal populations. 

Expressing his gratitude, Dr. Mahto promised to support the Trust’s initiatives. He emphasized the nutritional benefits of his high-protein mushroom varieties and introduced his research on *CR Dhan-310*, a high-protein rice that thrives with minimal water. He also advocated for the cultivation of cassava and sweet potatoes, which are cost-effective, time-efficient, and beneficial for health issues such as cancer, gastritis, and diabetes. 

Dr. Mahto’s innovations have significantly benefited women farmers and earned him a doctorate from the University of California. His work continues to inspire and empower the agricultural community worldwide.
