A significant development has emerged in the 2006 death of former Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Rajendra Prasad Shukla. Authorities have arrested Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav, who allegedly posed as a cardiologist under the name ‘Dr. N John Camm’. Yadav is accused of performing heart surgery on Shukla at Apollo Hospital in Bilaspur, after which Shukla died following 18 days on a ventilator.
Investigations reveal that Yadav forged medical qualifications and assumed the identity of a UK-based cardiologist. His arrest follows a series of deaths linked to his surgeries at a missionary hospital in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh. Authorities have filed an FIR against Yadav and initiated inquiries into Apollo Hospital’s role in the matter.
The case has prompted scrutiny of hospital credentialing processes and raised concerns about medical malpractice oversight. Further investigations are underway to determine the extent of Yadav’s activities and any institutional lapses that may have contributed to these incidents.
