Hathras: A family traveling from Bareilly to Mathura narrowly avoided a tragic accident when their car mistakenly entered an under-construction section of the Mathura-Bareilly Highway, guided by Google Maps.
The incident occurred late at night when poor visibility made it difficult to spot the construction zone. Following Google Maps’ directions, the family unknowingly drove onto the incomplete highway, putting their lives at risk.
Thankfully, the car’s airbags deployed upon impact, protecting the passengers and preventing any serious injuries. While the vehicle sustained significant damage, all family members escaped unharmed.
The mishap highlights the dangers of over-reliance on navigation apps, particularly in areas with incomplete infrastructure.
Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution and stay alert, especially when traveling at night or through unfamiliar routes.
