On the auspicious occasion of Govardhan Puja, hundreds of students from the Junior Wing, Shishu Vihar, of DAV Gandhinagar School in Kanke Road, Ranchi, visited the Ranchi Gaushala at Sukurhutu, organized by “Relations.” The students celebrated the day by feeding jaggery, bread, and fodder to hundreds of cows.

Nirmal Krishna Chandra from the Gaushala welcomed the students and guided them through the entire Gaushala, explaining the significance of cows in Indian culture. He emphasized the reverence for cows, often called “Gau Mata” (Mother Cow) in India, and explained the value of their care and protection. Students enjoyed feeding the calves and were educated on the importance of safeguarding cows and supporting local Gaushalas.

Present on the occasion were school principal Pradeep Kumar Jha, Relations director Ashutosh Dwivedi, Dr. Jaya Jaiswal, Mani Sharma, Laxmi Sinha, Seema Jain, Nisha Verma, along with several teachers and staff members who encouraged students to take an active role in animal welfare.
