Gandhinagar, May 17 — Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday made a bold statement, declaring that for the first time since independence, India crossed 100 km into Pakistani territory and destroyed terrorist camps, in a major counter-terror operation.
Speaking at a public gathering in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar, Shah highlighted the growing might and confidence of India’s armed forces, saying, “Those who used to threaten us in the name of nuclear weapons have now been answered by our Air Force, Navy, and Army.”
Shah added that the international community has praised the precision, discipline, and restraint of Indian forces, as well as the strong political will demonstrated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Today, the entire nation salutes the bravery of our three armed forces. Their courage has made every Indian proud,” Shah stated.
He also paid tribute to PM Modi, calling him “a son of Gujarat and Bharat Mata” who has not only ensured national security but also elevated India’s global stature.
Amit Shah also shed light on Operation Sindoor, the name given to the cross-border strike. He revealed that PM Modi personally named the mission as a tribute to the honor and dignity of Indian women. “The message of Indian tradition has been sent across the world by naming the operation after sindoor, symbolizing respect for our mothers and sisters,” Shah said.
Referring to the Pahalgam terror attack, Shah emphasized that PM Modi has fulfilled his promise made in Bihar to avenge the attack.
“As long as military operations are discussed globally, Operation Sindoor will also be remembered,” he concluded.
