Influencer Apoorva Mukhija Faces Online Threats After Remarks on Samay Raina’s Show

Social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija is reportedly receiving sexual assault and death threats online following her remarks on comedian Samay Raina’s now-deleted YouTube show, India’s Got Latent.

Apoorva’s close friend and fellow content creator, Rida Tharana, took to Instagram on Saturday (February 15) to condemn the threats. Sharing a post highlighting the abuse, Rida wrote, “I’ve never doubted that some people hate women simply for being women—for breathing, existing, loving themselves, and daring to grow. A woman could face the same issue as anyone else, but her gender always makes it worse. How do you ever feel safe when you’re constantly threatened, scared for your life, and living in a country that was supposed to protect you?”

Expressing concern over the situation, Rida further stated, “It’s so unfair, the hate and cruelty she’s being put through. I hope none of you ever have to experience what she’s going through.”

Meanwhile, Apoorva is facing multiple FIRs and was questioned by the police earlier this week. The controversy surrounding her statements has sparked a heated online debate, with many criticizing the threats while others continue to express their outrage over her remarks.
