An incident has come to light where a passenger traveling on the Vande Bharat Express from Katra (Jammu and Kashmir) to New Delhi found an insect in the meal served onboard. The passenger shared a photo of the contaminated food on social media, which quickly went viral.
Following the post, the railway authorities took swift action and sought an explanation from the catering service provider responsible. Indian Railways issued an apology to the passenger for the lapse and assured that strict measures are being taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
In an official statement, the Railway said that action is being taken against the negligent catering agency, and regular monitoring and quality checks of food services will be made more stringent.
