The Jamshedpur district police have intensified their efforts to curb drunk and reckless driving, seizing 22 vehicles and collecting a total fine of ₹2.80 lakh over the past two days. This crackdown, part of a broader campaign, aims to reduce road accidents and enhance public safety.

SSP Kishore Kaushal emphasized that the focus of the campaign, conducted late on December 30-31 and January 1, is not only on collecting fines but also on promoting responsible driving. “Drunk and rash driving often lead to fatal accidents, and we are dedicated to stopping this trend,” he said.

The traffic police seized nine vehicles each from the Golmuri and Jugsalai areas, collecting fines of ₹70,000 and ₹40,000 respectively. Additional seizures were made in Bistupur, Mango, and Sakchi, with fines totaling ₹50,000, ₹80,000, and ₹40,000 respectively.

The district police have reassured the public of continued efforts to ensure road safety and smooth traffic in the area.
