On March 25, 2025, the Jharkhand government, under Chief Minister Hemant Soren, approved an extension for linking Aadhaar numbers to bank accounts under the Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana. Previously, beneficiaries were required to link their Aadhaar by December 2024 to continue receiving benefits. This deadline has now been extended to March 2025. Additionally, women whose bank accounts are not yet linked to their Aadhaar numbers will continue to receive the honorarium until March 2025.

The Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana is a flagship program of the Jharkhand government aimed at providing financial assistance to women. In the FY 2025-26 budget, the scheme received an allocation of ₹13,363.35 crore, accounting for approximately 9.19% of the total budget.

This extension is expected to benefit numerous women in Jharkhand, ensuring they continue to receive financial support while completing the Aadhaar linking process.
