Jehanabad, Bihar: A primary teacher at a Kendriya Vidyalaya in Jehanabad has been suspended after her derogatory remarks about Bihar and its people went viral on social media.
The teacher, Dipali Sah, was caught in a video clip where she expressed displeasure over her posting in Bihar, stating she didn’t know what “mistake” she had committed to be assigned there. She further insulted the people of Bihar, claiming they have “zero civic sense” and even went to the extent of saying that India remains a developing nation because of Bihar.
In the viral clip, she said:
🗣️ “Kendriya Vidyalaya has so many schools across India. I could have been posted anywhere, even in Kolkata, which people don’t prefer. One of my friends got Darjeeling, another got Silchar—can you imagine? But why was I posted in India’s most f… region?”
She further lamented that she could have been posted in Goa, South India, or even Ladakh, instead of Bihar.
🔴 Political and Administrative Action
The remarks sparked outrage, with Samastipur MP Shambhavi writing to the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) Commissioner, calling her comments “inappropriate and unbecoming of an educator.”
Following this, the KVS suspended Dipali Sah and attached her to the organization’s headquarters in Misrikh. She has also been barred from leaving the station without prior approval.
This incident has ignited a debate on regional bias and the responsibilities of educators in shaping young minds.
