Maharashtra continues its crackdown on illegal gold and silver smuggling operations. Following the seizure of silver worth ₹80 crore in Mumbai, authorities in Nagpur have confiscated gold valued at over ₹14 crore.

According to sources, the joint operation was conducted by the Income Tax Department and the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Raids were carried out at multiple locations in Nagpur, leading to the discovery of the gold. Officials suspect that the seized gold was amassed illegally and intended for use in hawala operations and other unlawful activities.

The recent action has intensified investigations into smuggling networks, with agencies working to identify the key players involved. This series of high-profile seizures highlights Maharashtra’s stringent measures against smuggling and illegal trade activities.
