Assam’s lifeline in emergencies, the Mrityunjay 108 Ambulance Service, celebrates 17 years of relentless service to the people of the state.

Launched as a one-stop solution for medical emergencies, the service has successfully handled over 66 lakh emergency cases since its inception. With a fleet of 800 ambulances, including seven water ambulances catering to remote areas, the initiative has saved more than 2 lakh lives. 

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma acknowledged the service’s remarkable contribution in a recent Facebook post, highlighting its role in enhancing Assam’s healthcare system and saving countless lives. He expressed gratitude to the public for their cooperation and to the dedicated team behind the ambulance service. 

The 108 Ambulance Service continues to be a crucial part of Assam’s healthcare infrastructure, ensuring timely medical aid and transportation during emergencies, even in the most challenging terrains. 

This milestone reaffirms the government’s commitment to providing accessible healthcare and fostering a healthier Assam.
