Amid the backdrop of ‘Operation Sindoor’, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar convened a high-level security review meeting at the Purnia Collectorate Conference Hall. The meeting included senior administrative and police officials from border districts—Purnia, Katihar, Araria, Kishanganj, and Supaul—as well as representatives from the Army, Air Force, Border Security Force (BSF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), and the Railways.
Key issues discussed included the security of vital installations and religious sites, vigilance and patrolling along the international border, surveillance on movement in sensitive zones, and measures to curb drug trafficking, illegal arms smuggling, and human trafficking. Fire safety, medical arrangements, and the availability of essential supplies in the border regions were also reviewed.
In light of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Chief Minister directed officials to maintain heightened vigilance across all border areas. He specifically ordered strict surveillance of key infrastructure such as highways, bridges, railway lines, airports, petrol and diesel depots, and gas stations.
Additionally, he stressed the importance of curbing the spread of misinformation and fake news through social media and other digital platforms, issuing a stern warning against rumor-mongering.
CM Nitish Kumar assured the public that there is no need to panic, as the government is fully alert and prepared to deal with any situation.
