Saraikela-Kharasavan: A workshop was organized on the occasion of “Safe Internet Day” at District Heminarary Auditorium. This workshop was chaired by District Information Science Officer Rutu Raj Priyadarshi. During this time, important information was given regarding precautionary in internet use and prevention against cybercrimes.
The district information science official said the internet is making our lives easier, but cybercrime is growing along with this. He suggested that shortcuts should avoid making money and being tempted, as cybercriminals attempt to cheat people by sorting them. He highlighted many cyber fraud methods such as digital arrests, investments by luring more returns, online gaming frauds.
He suggested the following measures for cyber security:
✅Avoid mobile charging and using public wifi in public places.
✅ Do not receive WhatsApp and video calls from unknown numbers.
✅ Don’t share OTP, Aadhaar card, PAN card, bank details with anyone.
✅ Avoid clicking on anonymous link and don’t scan the QR code from anyone.
✅In case of any kind of cyber fraud call 1930 immediately or file a complaint on the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal.
Cyber Police Station In-charge Danish Iqbal said that people should not be scared of cybercrimes like digital arrests and avoid investing in more returns. He said cybercriminals take advantage of people’s lack of information and target them. He also said that early complaining of cybercrime gives you an opportunity to block transactions, otherwise it makes it harder to get money back after the Golden Hour is over.
The workshop also discussed important issues such as Artificial Intelligence, Cyber threats of Social Media, Online Fraud, Deep Fake, WhatsApp Security and Digital Arrest.
