Ashish Pal, a Panchayat Samiti member from East Ghorabandha in Jamshedpur block, was allegedly attacked on Wednesday night, reportedly by JMM supporters Madan Gorai, Raju Rana, and a group of 20-25 individuals. The incident is believed to stem from Pal’s advocacy for cow protection.

Around 10:30 PM, while returning home from the BJP office, Pal was intercepted and assaulted. The attackers reportedly abused him and issued death threats. Madan Gorai is alleged to have said, “We will not allow you to live in Ghorabandha if you continue to protect cows and write slogans like Jai Shri Ram.” During the attack, Pal’s religious symbols, including his Rudraksha necklace and tilak, were forcefully removed.

Pal has filed a written complaint at the Govindpur police station. Following the attack, NDA candidate Ramchandra Sahis visited Pal’s residence to condemn the incident. Sahis also met with police officials, demanding immediate arrests and stringent action against the culprits.

The incident sparked outrage, with BJP and AJSU leaders denouncing it as a violation of religious freedom and an example of deteriorating law and order in the region. A large protest was organized, led by Sahis and other party leaders, urging strict punishment for those involved.
