Uttar Pradesh : In a significant development in the Umesh Pal murder case, Prayagraj Commissionerate Police have intensified their action against the accused, imposing the Gangster Act on 15 individuals, including mafia Atiq Ahmed’s sons, Ali and Umar, on Thursday. This action also includes three wanted fugitives, Guddu Muslim, Sabir, and Arman, each with a bounty of five lakh rupees. Cases have been registered against all of them at Dhoomanganj Police Station.

The Umesh Pal murder on February 24, 2023, shocked Uttar Pradesh. Umesh Pal, a lawyer, and his two government gunners were brutally killed by mafia Atiq Ahmed’s shooters, who launched a bomb and gun attack in Dhoomanganj.

So far, police have arrested and jailed several of Atiq Ahmed’s close associates, including his brother-in-law, Ekhlak Ahmed, attorney Khan Saulat Hanif, sons Ali and Umar, lawyer Vijay Mishra, driver Cash Ahmed, aide Rakesh alias Lala, Iqbal Ahmed, Sadaqat Khan, Mohammad Arshad, Shahrukh, and Iqbal Ahmed. However, three key fugitives – Guddu Muslim from Lala ki Sarai in Shivkuti, Sabir from Mariyadih in Puramufti, and Arman from Civil Lines – remain at large, each carrying a bounty of five lakh rupees. Now, actions under the Gangster Act have been taken against all of them.

12 Accused in Jail, 3 at Large

Officials have gathered evidence that this gang has engaged in organized criminal activities for financial gain. Previously, this gang operated under Atiq and Ashraf’s leadership, and now it is led by Atiq’s son, Ali. City DCP Abhishek Bharti confirmed that charge sheets have been filed against all 15 accused in the Umesh Pal murder case, with 12 currently in jail and three still absconding. A case under the Gangster Act has been registered against all accused at Dhoomanganj Police Station.
