A major road accident occurred on Monday morning near the Jharkhand Home Guard Headquarters in Dhurwa, Ranchi, when a Scorpio SUV bearing a Bihar registration number crashed into multiple vehicles.
According to eyewitnesses, the Scorpio driver was heavily intoxicated at the time of the incident. The driver lost control and hit several vehicles before colliding head-on with an oncoming auto-rickshaw. The impact was so severe that the auto was completely mangled, leaving the driver critically injured.
Following the accident, local police arrived at the scene promptly and took the Scorpio driver into custody. An investigation has been launched and further legal action is underway.
The accident has raised serious concerns about drunk driving and public road safety in the city.
