Seraikela-Kharsawan: A review meeting on the implementation of health department schemes was conducted under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla. The meeting focused on assessing the financial and physical progress of programs under the National Health Mission (NHM).

Expressing dissatisfaction over the slow progress, the Deputy Commissioner instructed officials to ensure optimal utilization of available resources to provide better healthcare services. He directed all Medical Officers In-Charge (MOICs) to regularly review schemes at the block level and improve coordination for effective implementation.

Key Directives Issued:

Formation of a district-level inquiry team to investigate maternal and child deaths.

Strengthening institutional deliveries, identifying areas with low delivery rates, and ensuring necessary facilities.

Conducting regular VHSND (Village Health, Sanitation, and Nutrition Day) sessions, including health screenings for women, anemia, and hemoglobin tests.

Running special campaigns to identify and provide timely treatment for tuberculosis, leprosy, HIV, malaria, and dengue patients.

Identifying low birth weight children and admitting them to MTC/LBSN/SNCU centers for necessary care and treatment.


The Deputy Commissioner also warned of strict action against any irregularities found during health scheme reviews.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Development Commissioner Ashish Agarwal, Civil Surgeon Dr. Ajay Sinha, District Social Welfare Officer Satya Thakur, Deputy Superintendent of Sadar Hospital, along with all MOICs and other health officials.
