New Delhi: Supreme Court lawyer Sanjay Srivastava has issued a defamation notice worth ₹10 crore to former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh. The notice was sent in response to serious allegations made by Singh against Srivastava.
Singh had accused Sanjay Srivastava of involvement in illegal activities, including raids against Saurabh Sharma and alleged money transactions through unauthorized toll collection during the tenure of Govind Singh Rajput as the state’s Transport Minister.
In the notice, Srivastava refuted the claims, stating that the allegations were baseless and intended to harm his professional reputation. He emphasized that his name was dragged into the controversy due to his ongoing legal battle against Sagar Congress leader Rajkumar Dhanora.
Furthermore, Srivastava alleged that Digvijay Singh provided false information in a letter addressed to the Prime Minister’s Office, making baseless accusations about his involvement in illegal activities.
The notice demands a public apology and damages of ₹10 crore from Singh. Meanwhile, Singh has requested an investigation into the alleged links between Govind Singh Rajput, Sanjay Srivastava, Saurabh Sharma, and two others.
The controversy continues to unfold, raising questions about the political and legal implications of the allegations.
