The Tata Nagar Rail Civil Defense organized a one-day training camp at the Electric Loco Pilot Training Center, where trainee loco pilots were trained in firefighting services and disaster management.
Loco pilots from Chakradharpur, Adra, Ranchi, and Kharagpur divisions of South Eastern Railway participated. Civil Defense Inspector Santosh Kumar highlighted Indian Railways’ continuous improvements in safety measures. He explained the installation of dry chemical powder and carbon dioxide fire suppression systems in the new WAG-9 locomotives to prevent major fire damage.
Live fire extinguisher demonstrations were conducted by Civil Defense Demonstrator Shankar Prasad, while Anil Kumar Singh trained participants on domestic fire safety techniques. First-aid and bandaging methods were taught by Demonstrator Anamika Mandal.
The training program was attended by over 200 loco pilots, along with trainers Santosh Bhagat, S. Rajak, and Civil Defense Inspector Santosh Kumar.
