The problems for Bokaro MLA Shweta Singh continue to deepen. After allegations of possessing two PAN cards, the Congress legislator is now under scrutiny for allegedly holding four voter ID cards. In light of this, the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of Chas, Pranjal Dhadha, has issued a notice to the MLA, asking her to present her side of the matter.
While the Election Commission has already directed the Income Tax Department to investigate the dual PAN card allegations, a fresh notice has now been served by the Chas SDO in connection with a complaint related to multiple voter IDs.
BJP Leader Filed Complaint
The case originated from a complaint filed by former BJP MLA Biranchi Narayan, who alleged that Shweta Singh possessed four separate voter ID cards. Acting on the complaint, the Chief Electoral Officer of Jharkhand instructed the Bokaro Deputy Commissioner to conduct a detailed inquiry.
As part of the investigation, the SDO has also issued a notice to complainant Biranchi Narayan, asking him to appear on June 3 and present evidence and documents supporting his claims. Shweta Singh has been asked to submit her explanation on the same date.
This development adds to the growing list of controversies surrounding the Congress legislator, and the coming days could prove crucial for her political future.
