Om Prakash Chautala, former Chief Minister of Haryana and a significant figure in Indian politics, passed away on December 20, 2024, at the age of 89. He was at his residence in Gurugram when he breathed his last.

Chautala served as Haryana’s Chief Minister four times and was the son of Chaudhary Devi Lal, India’s former Deputy Prime Minister. Known for his leadership in the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), his tenure in politics was marked by both achievements and controversies.

His contributions to Haryana’s political and social landscape are remembered fondly, but his career also faced challenges, including legal issues related to a disproportionate assets case.

Chautala’s passing marks the end of a political era for Haryana, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and influence in state politics.
