In a significant success against illegal liquor smuggling, the Special Operations Team of the Bihar Police Prohibition Unit, acting on intelligence inputs, intercepted a 12-wheeler truck transporting illicit liquor into Bihar from another state.
On May 9, 2025, in coordination with the Bakhtiyarpur Police Station in Patna district, the team identified and seized the vehicle, recovering 2,953.58 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL). One individual was arrested on the spot.
A formal case has been registered, and further investigation is being carried out by the district police to uncover the broader network behind the smuggling operation.
