Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren issued a strong message against religious conversion while addressing a tribal mega conference in Chakulia on Sunday. Speaking passionately, he said, “Wake up, tribal brothers! I have come to awaken the tribals from the land of Chakulia.”

Soren emphasized the urgent need to stop religious conversions in Jharkhand, warning that if such practices are not curbed, the situation in the state could mirror that of Murshidabad. “If conversions continue, the very existence of tribals will be at risk,” he stated.

The event was jointly organized at the Town Hall by Bharat Jakat Majhi Pargana Mahal and Adivasi Sanwta Susar Akhada. During his address, Soren also criticized the current state government, saying, “What we have in Jharkhand is only a namesake ‘Abua Sarkar’ (Our Government).”

His statements have stirred political discussions in the state, highlighting ongoing tensions around cultural identity and religious conversion.
