The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has introduced a property tax waiver scheme, offering significant relief to residents. Under this scheme, if property owners pay their 2024-25 house tax, all previous outstanding dues will be waived.

The announcement was made jointly by MCD Mayor Mahesh Khichi, Deputy Mayor Ravindra Bhardwaj, House Leader Mukesh Goel, and senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh. The proposal will be passed in the MCD House on Tuesday.

Key benefits of the scheme include:

Complete property tax exemption for properties up to 100 square yards.

50% tax relief for properties between 100 and 500 square yards.

A 25% discount for 1,300 housing societies for the first time.

This initiative aims to ease the financial burden on homeowners and encourage timely tax payments, ensuring better civic services across Delhi.
