On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, Hill Top Public School, Bariatu, hosted a unique event titled “From Waste to Wonder” in celebration of Diwali. Organized by Relations, this program encouraged students to repurpose waste materials into beautiful artwork, showcasing their creativity and commitment to environmental awareness.
The initiative, set against the backdrop of Diwali, highlighted an innovative approach to waste management. Students transformed household waste into eye-catching decorations, demonstrating how discarded items can be used to beautify spaces. Their creations promoted messages aligned with Swachh Bharat, plastic reduction, and environmental conservation, inspiring others to adopt the practice of recycling.
The event was graced by the school’s Principal, Sanjita Raj; Vice Principal, Sunita Srivastava; Relations Director, Ashutosh Dwivedi; and Arya Prahlad Bhagat, who expressed their appreciation for the students’ creativity, recognizing it as a vital trait for their future success.
The students crafted various items like wall hangings, flower pots, bird feeders, photo frames, pen stands, wall art, and other decorative pieces using plastic, disposable cups and plates, cardboard, and newspapers.
Teachers and students, including IS Zaki, Seema Lala, Purobi Roy, Shivani, Moushumi Bhattacharya, Shankar, Sneha, Gargi, Suryakant, Priyanka, Simki, Sariya, Nikita, and Savita, among others, were present to support and celebrate this meaningful initiative.
