Under the directive of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of East Singhbhum, Jugsalai police achieved a significant breakthrough during a special campaign aimed at curbing criminal activities and anti-social behavior in the region. Acting on reports of illicit drug trade in the Garib Nawaz Colony area near the railway tracks, the police conducted a targeted raid.
During the operation, officers arrested a suspect identified as Altaf, alias Pillu Bachcha, and seized 40 pouches of brown sugar along with ₹1,700 in cash. The raid was part of routine patrolling during which several individuals attempted to flee upon spotting the police. One suspect was apprehended after a chase.
The campaign was carried out under the supervision of Sub-Inspector Rajesh Biha, along with Sumit Lakra, constables Kundan Ram, Shankar Kumar, and other team members. The arrested individual has been sent to judicial custody.
This operation reflects the district police’s intensified efforts to eliminate drug trade and other illegal activities, ensuring a safer community for residents.
