Patna: Renowned badminton star Saina Nehwal will participate in an international marathon in Patna on December 1, aimed at spreading awareness about drug addiction. The event, organized under the theme “Run for a Drug-Free Bihar,” will feature races in four categories: 42 km, 21 km, 10 km, and 5 km.
Vinod Singh Gunjiyal, Secretary of the Prohibition and Excise Department, announced during a press conference that the total prize money for the winners is set at ₹50 lakh. Additionally, a new “Bihar Fastest” category has been introduced to honor the fastest male and female runners separately.
The marathon underscores Bihar’s commitment to promoting a drug-free society while encouraging fitness and community participation.
