T-Shirt Launch for Upcoming 4th Master Athletic Championship 2024 and Road Race 

Jamshedpur: The Master Athletic Association of Jharkhand, in collaboration with the Master Athletic Association of East Singhbhum, officially launched the T-shirts for the upcoming 4th State-Level Master Athletic Championship 2024 and Road Race during a ceremonial event held at the Telco Club in Jamshedpur. 

The championship is scheduled to take place on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 6:00 AM at the JRD Sports Complex, Jamshedpur. This year’s event introduces a 2 km and 3 km Road Race for the first time, open to students aged 12–18 and participants from all categories, including men and women. 

Speaking at the launch, Vijay Singh, President of the Master Athletic Association of Jharkhand, highlighted the improved arrangements for this year’s championship, drawing from past experiences. He announced that for the first time, all participating athletes would receive T-shirts. The organizing committee anticipates the participation of approximately 1,000 athletes from various districts of the state across multiple age categories. 

The one-day state-level championship will serve as a qualifying platform for selecting the best master athletes from each age group to represent Jharkhand at the National Master Athletic Championship 2025, organized by the Master Athletics Federation of India (MAFI). 

Special focus has been placed on the Road Race this year, with a 2 km category for junior participants and a 3 km category for seniors. Students from schools and colleges, along with master athletes, will compete within their respective age groups. Cash prizes, medals, and certificates will be awarded to the top three finishers in the Road Race, which will commence at 7:00 AM. 

Present at the T-shirt launch were Vijay Kumar Singh (President, Master Athletic Association of Jharkhand), S.K. Tomar (Secretary), S.K. Sharma, Inderjeet Singh (Life President), Avtar Singh, Harvinder Singh, and other executive members. The committee confirmed that most preparations for both events have been completed.
