The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has imposed a fine of ₹15 lakh on three UPSC coaching institutes in Delhi for issuing misleading advertisements about the results of the Civil Services Examination for 2022 and 2023.

The penalized institutes include Vajirao & Reddy Institute, StudyIQ IAS, and Edge IAS. These institutes falsely claimed high success rates among their students. However, an investigation revealed that most successful candidates had only participated in their interview guidance programs and not in their preliminary and mains preparation courses.

Vajirao & Reddy and StudyIQ were fined ₹7 lakh each, while Edge IAS faced a penalty of ₹1 lakh. So far, the CCPA has collected a total of ₹71.6 lakh in fines from 22 coaching institutes for similar offenses.

This action underscores the CCPA’s commitment to holding educational institutions accountable for deceptive practices.
