Bokaro, Jharkhand: Rupesh Kumar, a resident of Bokaro district, has developed a life-saving device named ‘Protector’ to help road accident victims receive immediate medical attention. The mobile app-based device ensures that hospitals, family members, and the police within a one-kilometer radius are alerted through calls and SMS, enabling a faster response and timely ambulance service.

Rupesh was inspired to create this device after losing a relative in a road accident. He recalled that his father Ravishankar Kumar’s former soldier friend died due to delayed medical aid. This tragic incident motivated him to find a solution that could save lives. With guidance from his teacher, Mo Obaidullah Ansari, Rupesh started working on the project, and after dedicated efforts, the ‘Protector’ device is now fully developed.

How the ‘Protector’ Device Works
The device incorporates advanced technology, including MCU (Micro Controller Unit), sensors, GPS, a SIM card, an acceleration detector, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Users can register their name, address, blood group, and emergency contact numbers in the app.

It features a special sensor that detects vehicle speed and shock pressure. If the vehicle is moving at dangerously high speeds, the system alerts the driver. In case of an accident, the sensor detects the impact and immediately sends signals to the MCU. The system then automatically notifies registered contacts and nearby emergency services via phone calls and SMS, ensuring rapid assistance for the injured person.

Rupesh Kumar’s innovation aims to reduce fatalities caused by delayed medical help in road accidents, making India’s roads safer with the power of technology.
