Justice B.R. Gavai to Take Oath as Next Chief Justice of India on May 14

Justice Bhupendra Ramkrishna Gavai has been announced as the next Chief Justice of India. He will officially assume office on May 14, succeeding the current CJI. With this appointment, Justice Gavai becomes one of the few judges from a Scheduled Caste background to hold the highest judicial position in the country.
