The 4th State-Level Master Athletics Championship 2024 was held at JRD Sports Complex, Jamshedpur, on Sunday. The event began with a torch relay led by international athlete Achinto Pramanik and concluded with Avtar Singh’s efforts. Around 1,135 participants across 20 age categories competed in 180 events, including shot put, long jump, 100m sprint, and walking races.
International medalists and dignitaries graced the event, with awards presented for outstanding performances. Highlights included Achinto Pramanik winning three gold medals in the 70+ category. The event was praised for its organization, offering excellent facilities for participants from 17 districts.
The championship showcased athletes from 30+ to 85+ years, with host district East Singhbhum securing top awards.
